Jiangsu unveils "No. 1 document" for 2025

The CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and provincial government have released the "No. 1 document" for 2025, outlining key efforts to deepen rural reforms, advance all-around rural revitalization, and transform the province into a leading agricultural powerhouse.

This year’s first policy statement from Jiangsu authorities emphasizes the guidance of the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Jiangsu aims to lead in agricultural modernization and develop into a high-level agricultural province. It stresses the priority development of agriculture and rural areas and the integrated urban-rural development.

By deepening reforms and technological innovation, Jiangsu seeks to enhance agricultural efficiency, invigorate the countryside, and increase farmers' incomes, thereby providing strong support for Jiangsu's new endeavors in piloting the Chinese path to modernization.

The policy blueprint outlines six areas of focus: further enhancing the stable production and supply of grains and other essential agricultural products, upgrading rural industries and their market competitiveness, strengthening the role of agricultural science, technology and equipment, continuously improving the integrated urban-rural development system, perfecting the supply of production factors, and improving the rural governance system.
